LONG VALLEY, NJ — Kids who are looking for interactive fun, pairing books with music, can sign up for "Rock N Read," happening every Thursday through Aug. 12, as part of the Washington Township Library's summer reading program. With a focus on "Tails and Tales" with an animal theme this summer, Rock N Read is a way for families at home to join in the fun remotely on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. This coming Thursday's program has an elephant theme. Registration is required to join in the Zoom program with books and songs, for ages two and up. Once registered, the library will email parents a link to the storytime event, which lasts for a half-hour. Click here to register for Thursday's Rock N Read on July 29. The Tails and Tales program continues, with young readers able to be in the running for prizes for each seven days that they read, including free slushies, books and more. They can also accrue raffle tickets for the program's grand prizes, including a trip to the Turtle Back Zoo. Contact [email protected] with questions about the Tails and Tales program. See the full calendar here for kids' programs including outdoor storytime, the Books and Bagels Family Book Club, crafts and more. Questions or comments about this story? Have a news tip?
