Freehold Non-Profit Gets $20K Grant From The Fund For New Jersey

FREEHOLD, NJ — Casa Freehold, a Freehold-based non-profit won a $20,000 grant from The Fund for New Jersey, an organization that works to improve the quality of public policy decision-making statewide. The three-year operating grant was awarded for the organization to advocate for and implement a New Jersey Domestic Worker's Bill of Rights. Founded in 2004 in response to the needs of a growing immigrant population, Casa Freehold aims to help people who have recently arrived to the country become fully integrated and productive members of their new community. Their programs offer employment opportunities with fair pay, health resources, language classes and legal support, among other services. A total of 18 grants, worth $1.25 million, were announced last week by The Fund for New Jersey, for different causes, such as environmental protection, voting rights, education and criminal justice reform.
