The air quality today was listed as "unhealthy for sensitive groups" all day. "Sensitive individuals should limit prolonged exertion," the state said. "Sensitive individuals include children and older adults, anyone with lung disease such as asthma, emphysema, and bronchitis, and people who are active outdoors. Even healthy individuals may experience mild health effects and should consider limiting strenuous or prolonged activities." Wednesday, however, is listed as good. Expanded Conservation Area Access The Nature Conservancy is spending about $700,000 to improve access to the Manchester Cedar Swamp Preserve, a 640-acre area with hikes and nature walks. According to the New Hampshire Union Leader, upgrades include a bigger parking lot with restrooms, benches, and wider trails — to accommodate wheelchairs. About $1M For Nonprofits, Churches The state's federal delegation said Tuesday that about $952,000 is being given to churches, houses of worship, and other nonprofits as part of a Nonprofit Security Grant Program. Orgs in Patch communities receiving grants include Camp Young Judaea in Amherst; Bishop Brady High School, Concord Christian Academy, and St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Concord; St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua; St. Joseph Hospital's Milford Medical Center in Milford; Temple of Israel in Portsmouth; and Crossing Life Church and Community Center in Windham. The Penacook Civil Defense Rescue Squad in Boscawen and the Rye Congregational Church also received grants. Exeter Prom Vaccine Tracking Violated Directive The tracking of Exeter High School students who weren't vaccinated but attended prom in June, by marker ink, violated a directive by the school administration, according to an audit of the incident.
