Press release from the City of Mission Viejo: July 7, 2021 As part of the I-5 South County Improvements Project, the northbound La Paz Road straight on-ramp will be closed for 30 hours beginning at 10 pm on Friday, July 9. The closure will allow crews to complete paving operations and shift traffic onto the new lane of the on-ramp.   Detours will be in place July 9-11.  The Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) and Caltrans are working together on the San Diego Freeway (I-5) Widening project from SR-73 to El Toro Road.
