Despite some coming around to public health recommendations supporting the efficacy of the vaccine, Tuesday's numbers still reflect public apprehension, as less than half of the population of the Tuscaloosa metro area has been fully vaccinated. To make matters worse, fears are being realized of a new nationwide surge in cases and hospitalizations.
