The Alabama Law Enforcement agency identified the two fatalities as Linda Ann Payne, 62, and Myrtle Ruth Payne, 50, both of Emelle, who were pronounced dead at the scene after the 2021 Honda HRV they were riding in was struck by a 2007 Jeep Wrangler driven by man from Mississippi.
ALEA says a 2014 Volvo tractor trailer was also involved in the collision.
Both women in the Honda were pronounced dead at the scene, while the drivers of both vehicles were transported to area hospitals to be treated for their injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
