We are looking to interview and hire 4-5 team members for the following position: On Call Furniture Movers - see below for full description. THIS IS AN ON CALL PART TIME POSTION. On Call Furniture Movers We are looking for 4-5 On Call Moving Assistants who are reliable, dependable and trustworthy. Opportunity for advancement as the business grows. The Furniture Mover will be responsible for helping lead the day-to-day warehouse operations and moving services performed at the RightAway Storage facility located in the city of Baltimore. This position requires a person that is energetic, action oriented, success driven with strong customer service and sales skills that thrives in entrepreneurial environments. RightAway Storage is a fast paced, growing organization that serves a unique niche in the marketplace offing both traditional Self Storage and Valet Storage with Moving Services to better serve its Customers. We deliver a best-in-class storage experience by being friendly, professional & handling items safely as if it were our own. An ideal Applicant needs to be comfortable with all warehouse operational duties, furniture moving, packing, overseeing moving staff, driving commercial vehicles and cargo trailers, and supporting the General Manager. Key Duties and Responsibilities Furniture Moving Pick-up and deliver Customer's belongings using box truck and pickup trucks. Safely pack, load and unload Customer items with care while following all Company protocols. Ensure that Customer items are protected to avoid damage while moving. Provide excellent Customer experiences by being able to answer Customer questions, address concerns, set realistic expectations and complete the moving services in a first-class manner. Qualified to drive straight box truck AND experience towing/driving cargo trailers Ensures effective utilization of warehouse areas and observes proper loading, unloading, stocking and safekeeping of Customer’s goods to prevent damage, theft, accidents, and occupational hazards. Complete Customer deliveries and drive commercial vehicles (cargo vans, pick-up trucks and cargo trailers up to 24 feet). Ensure that vehicles, trailers, machinery and equipment is maintained and ready for duty. Warehouse Management & Leadership Support the General Manager & Logistics Supervisor in all aspects of the operation of the facility including, without limitation, front desk support, Customer tours/rentals, and company marketing efforts. Maintain the highest standard of Customer Service and ensuring direct report staff is equally customer service focused. Manage internal logistics management software to ensure accurate billing, inventory management and on-time delivery to Customers. Recruit, train, coach, and manage moving staff to optimize performance and quality of service to Customers. Maintains all warehouse and vehicle related safety protocols and ensures all regulatory approvals are in good standing (DOT and others). General oversight of building maintenance, complete daily light housekeeping duties to ensure the facility is clean and welcoming to Customers. Interact with Customers in a professional manner to provide the excellent Customer experiences. Qualifications No experience needed, willing to train the right person(s) Positive, “can do” attitude Experience driving straight box trucks and pick-up trucks and hauling cargo trailers (12' to 24'). Available to work weekends. Availability Monday-Friday 9-6; Sat 9-5 and Sun 12-5 (as needed). Polished presentation and ability to interact with Customers in a sales capacity Excellent communication skills both on phone and in person. Works well in a team setting or independently. Repeated twisting at the torso while lifting and pulling inventory from shelves Ability to lift items and boxes up to 50 pounds Climbing of ladders, usage of scissor and picker lifts. Clean background check including criminal, credit and employment. Have valid Driver’s License and clean driving record DOT Medical card not required but a plus and applicant will need to apply for one once employed by RightAway Storage. CDL not required Proficient with PC based computer, Microsoft Office other general business tools. High school diploma Job Location A 3-story, 105,000 square foot, climate-controlled facility located in the city of Baltimore, MD with convenient access to I-95 and I-895.
