Description

Thanks for checking out my listing! I was the lead vocalist in a black/death/thrash metal band for 11 years in the Charlotte area, in which I sang almost entirely harsh vocals, with occasional clean passages. We always got the crowd going. After that, I moved on to playing acoustic rock, Celtic/folk, punk, and many other genres with clean vocals of different styles, from crystal clear, to soulful, and even a raspy "pirate" voice for British/Irish drinking songs and sea shanties. In total I have over 500 gigs experience spanning multiple projects. I would enjoy singing in a band that is energetic, rocking, heavy and driving. I miss having a crowd mosh to the music I performed. I want to write lyrics and clean vocal parts and hold the rights to them, and don't mind doing harsh vocals if the music dictates it (as stated, I was the lead vocalist in a black/death/thrash metal band). I am knowledgeable in music theory, can play several instruments to a professional level and can arrange harmonies/backing vocal parts as well, but certainly want to focus on lead vocals. I don't like old fashioned, exhausting, senseless regular in-person rehearsals/jam sessions. The best way to work for me is to send me your music and I can arrange vocal parts, then we can have goals in place, meet to layer everything and build a set for recording and regional live performances. I trust that the musicians I would collaborate with could compose quality instrumental pieces and would allow me to have free reign of the lyrical and vocal aspects which would be layered on top after the instrumental work is completed. I would love to build a strong regional following and pack the house with energized fans when we gig. It is imperative that any project I work with have a decent, consistent, marketable image and quality internet/social media presence. High quality graphics, a professional logo, etc. This should be a given, but take a look at many local bands and you'll see why I added this. If this sounds like something you would be interested in exploring, please send me an email! Some of my vocal influences, including both clean and harsh: Depeche Mode, Soilwork, Sentenced, Killswitch Engage, Gin Blossoms, The Cure, Helmet, The Toadies, Screaming Trees, Alice in Chains, The Beatles, Incubus, Tonic, The Verve Pipe, Stone Temple Pilots, Vertical Horizon, As I Lay Dying, Boston, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Dissection, etc.
