Vocalist/Creative Looking For Band Members For A Unique Concept

Description

Hey, So, I'm a vocalist and songwriter who really hasn't done this before so experience isn't super necessary. But I have the will and the time to try and make music and would be looking for 3 or 4 other people who would want to dive in with me. I'm 29, ideally you would be a Millenial around my age or an elder Gen Z'er that has a desire to experiment across genres and not be locked into one category or expectation as musicians. But there's no real age restrictions. You can be male, female, or anything outside and in between. The whole idea or concept would be to bounce around different genres and make a whole bunch of different music. One day we might be digging into our guiltiest pleasures in pop and the next day we might be making a guitar indie/alt rock song with a twinge of grunge. The running thread is simply our interests, whatever songs any of us bring to the table and the hopes that we add our own identities to whatever kind of song we decide to tackle. Some songs might have a vibe that we're winking at the audience a little bit. Some songs might be dead serious. Some songs might be about partying, some songs might be about the existential terrors of the human condition, and some might simply be love songs. As for me, my influences include: The Strokes, Arctic Monkeys, Phoenix, The Killers, Childish Gambino, Tyler The Creator, Fleetwood Mac, The Cars, Nirvana, and a myriad of pop music that may be surprising given these artists I've listed. A big part of this is not trying to sound exactly like any of them, though. If you've read this far, I hope you're a little intrigued. Here's what I would ideally envision members bring to the table: (But remember, if you're skilled in multiple instruments or production techniques, that's a BIG plus) A guitarist: maybe you're a master shredder or maybe you've got a hell of a penchant for riffs that have been sitting in your mind or on your phone somewhere. This could be a chance to put them somewhere A bassist: hopefully you can keep a beat, but maybe you've got a lot more than that you can bring to the table. When diving into diverse ranges of music, odds are you might be the signature sound on a bunch of tracks A drummer: if you like to play around with different types of beats but also have the opportunity to turn those things on their head and get as weird as you are, then you're in Someone familiar with production: Maybe you're only partially fluent in a program or two but you know you can make a track and would embrace the contributions of the other members. Some songs might rely heavily on your creativity with the other members riffing on it or drumming along to it. In this group, you can explore your range and flex muscles that you weren't sure you had before. We might have a song that bends toward hip hop, reaggaeton, or dance music and you would want to find a unique way to tackle it. And one more thing, it's important that everyone has a chance to bring ideas to the table. I know creative endeavors can invite ego and even just the desire to not have an idea touched too much by someone else's. But we want to cut into that intentionally so that the music is diverse in sound and scope. If we all agree that someone has a great idea, then we should all be able to find our ways to make an imprint on it (or maybe decide that we like it as it is and help with the process).
