Hello! My name is Abraham Loaiza. I’m a saxophonist and freelance educator from Pomona, CA. I am currently looking to take on new students and am offering lessons in saxophone performance, as well as jazz improvisation for all instruments. Previous students have compared my teaching style to working with a personal trainer. My saxophone lessons are catered to the individual student, focusing on strengthening fundamental skills and learning repertoire that fits into their musical goals. Together, we will devise a musical “workout plan” that will get you where you want to be. All ages and skill levels are welcome! Improvisation lessons will focus equally on learning jazz theory and ear training and practicing said skills. Students are expected to know how to read music and have a basic understanding of music theory (know major and minor scales and triads). Rates are as follows: $30 for half hour sessions $50 for a full hour Additional $5 travel fee for commutes of 30+ minutes. Lessons can be done in-person at the students home or via Zoom/Skype/etc. I am fully vaccinated and am willing to wear a mask if requested. Students of all races/genders/orientations welcome!
