Established small local construction company serving the Villages area for 15 years looking for entry level construction worker. Starting pay $17 per hour, plus paid holidays, paid vacation, company shirts, company vehicle while at work. Opportunity for advancement. The ideal candidate will have: High School Diploma or GED At least 18 years old Lift 80 lbs from the ground to a truck bed (a bag of concrete) Valid drivers license Reliable transportation to and from work Non-smoker Job Duties: Working hours are 7:30AM to 4:30PM Monday through Friday. No Weekend Work. You must be able to show up at the office by 7:30AM M-F or you will be terminated immediately. Work attire is a company shirt, shorts or jeans and closed toed shoes. Must be capable of completing work tasks on your own or with others. The ability to navigate a vehicle in a densely populated area (The Villages) is required. You will be doing some or all of the following: pick up and deliver materials, pick up construction debris, transport materials, take construction debris to a waste facility, drive with a trailer attached to your vehicle, conduct demolition of walls, cabinets, doors and windows, assist with the installation of doors, windows, cabinets, baseboards & trim, perform light touch-up painting, mix and pour a bag of concrete, install caulking to various surfaces, chip block and concrete with a chipping hammer, rake and sweep up around a job site, use a measuring tape, swing a hammer, use a drill, use a circular saw, use a sawzall, use a chop saw, climb a ladder, talk with owners, contractors and suppliers, use a cell phone to text, take pictures and make calls. If you are a high school graduate with little or no construction experience, training can be provided for the right candidate. The right candidate will be mechanically inclined, strong, motivated, respectful and willing to take direction and learn quickly.
