Small Real Estate Management Company located in Downtown Brooklyn is seeking a motivated Maintenance Worker to assist in carrying out all scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance, servicing, fault-finding and repairs. Specific Duties and Responsibilities: • Responsible for performing daily routine building maintenance tasks • Assist with minor electrical maintenance to include but not limited to replacement or repair of fixtures - wall switches and outlets, incandescent and fluorescent bulbs and tubes, ballast, sockets, fuses, etc. using appropriate hand, power and specialty tools • Perform minor plumbing maintenance replacement or repair of leaks in drains and faucets, unclogging drains. • Perform minor carpentry and masonry work: hanging doors, fitting locks and handles, cement repair, etc. and basic knowledge of heating and cooling systems • Assist Building Manager in monitoring all work being performed by in-house maintenance crew • Alert Property Manager of any unusual occurrence and/or damage at the properties that has taken place or that may occur and assist with property viewings. • Assist with maintaining inventory control of tools • Assist with maintaining a neat and orderly workshop • Must be able to assist during emergencies or any other special requests that may occur outside normal hours • Must possess strong attention to detail; possess the ability to learn new procedures quickly and be able to juggle multiple job functions • Excellent customer service skills with the desire to exceed tenant expectations • Must have good verbal skills • Ability to work independently in a timely manner, making sure job is done correctly the first time • Able to lift up to 50 pounds; be able to push, pull, carry or maneuver heavier items (with additional manpower or appropriate devices); carry ladders; work from heights and work in small confined spaces • Observe all company procedures and safety rules • Work as part of our team Requirements: Must possess current/valid US work authorization and be eligible to work for any US employer without sponsorship Must be dependable, flexible, proactive, approachable, willing to learn from feedback and take imitative Physical stamina and dexterity Driver’s license a plus Must have high school diploma or equivalent Compensation: Commensurate with Experience To apply, please send a cover letter detailing your interest and fit for the job, resume and answer the following question in your application: • What is your favorite building in Brooklyn?
