Description

ACES Northwest Network Seminar Series ACES Northwest Network members, partners, and friends are teaming up to share the story of shared rides and shared opportunities at our third quarterly event in the ACES Northwest Network Seminar Series. The shared-rides revolution reflects how communications and logistics advancements have changed how people connect and move. The way we move about in the Pacific Northwest was likewise dramatically affected by the global crisis in 2020 and our collaborators in shared-ride services are prepared to share the story of how they responded to the upheaval while continuing to support public transit connections and essential mobility needs. The constellation of diverse mobility services that exists today is the foundation of connections to high-capacity public transit in the future, providing the flexibility demanded by a changing landscape in mobility and transportation infrastructure funding and development. The return of crippling roadway congestion portends a new world where flexible schedules and flexible workplaces have already created new travel patterns that challenge old ways of thinking and the limits of conventional approaches. Despite these challenges, we are confident that the marketplace of mobility will find a way to satisfy all these emerging needs and more. This Seminar Series event will feature two panels. Our first panel will describe new synergies between dozens of shared-ride operators and the largest shared-ride services in the region, publicly-funded transit agencies. Public transit agencies around the globe have recognized that new business models will lead to a sustainable future and support ridership growth. Shared-ride services of all types serve as critical links for urban and suburban public transit services, including new light rail lines opening in our region in the coming years. Our second panel will explore how Network member companies are leveraging cutting-edge technology to help our economy rebound, with new vehicle technologies and service models designed to provide what people want and need to be comfortable, safe, and ready to build back better. From electric vehicles to employer shuttles, our region’s diverse mobility landscape is truly poised to share rides and share opportunities for success, together. INRIX is a short walk from the Metro Transit Route 250 and easily accessible via bicycle from Seattle, Bellevue, and the Eastside. On-site vehicle parking is available. The program is from 3:30 - 5:00 PM PDT and there will be a happy hour following for in-person attendees. If you have any questions about the event, please contact Scott Kuznicki ([email protected]).
