SUMMARY: The Environmental Services Tech/Housekeeper may be required to work in any location/area on the client premises. The EVS Tech cleans and keeps in an orderly condition patient and/or non-patient care areas following the departmental cleaning procedures, using dilution ratio; some departmental equipment operation is required. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Cleans patient and non-patient areas to include but not limited to patient rooms, common areas, hallways, corridors, classrooms, offices, bathrooms, dorms, dock and other areas that my require cleaning attention. • Sweeps, mops, scrubs, vacuums, damp dust, high dust, dust mop, spot cleaning of walls, doors & glass, etc. • Thorough cleaning of bed and all furnishings and fixtures in the room upon discharge of patient. *May be required to strip bed upon discharge of patient. • Empties trash and garbage containers. • Replenish supplies and materials. • Will be required to use cleaning chemicals properly and safely per manufacturer and standards. • Notifies manager concerning the need for repairs to equipment, furniture, and building fixture(s). • May be required to remove waste from all patient and non-patient care areas, utility closets, etc. and transfer for appropriate disposal. • May handle hazardous waste in according with government regulations and standards. • Adhere to hospital biohazard procedures. • May be required to move furniture and set-up table and chairs. • Maintain assigned equipment for cleanliness. • Assist in emergency calls to clean spills, stat beds, and patient rooms. • Reports all incidents and injuries in a timely manner. • May assist in the training of other employees. • In case of fire and/or any other internal disaster or community disaster, performs duties as assigned. • Additional duties and responsibilities might be assigned according to account needs. • Must perform the duties of a housekeeper and janitorial and other assigned duties. • Maintain good relationship with team member and others. • Must be able to clean unoccupied rooms at any time and at any facility. • Maintain proper care of company equipment and client property. Utilize chemicals and equipment properly and prescribed. • Must be able to comply with deadlines and prioritize the workload. • Adjust to last minute demands, duties and account demands. • Balance constructive criticism with positive feedback. • Must have a positive attitude towards company demands, needs, and changes. • Adjust to changes and move towards improvement in all areas. • Must be able to complete all assigned duties in all areas of the building. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: • High School Diploma or GED is preferred. • Minimum of 2 years of experience of previous work experience in housekeeping or Janitorial work. • Previous experience working at a medical facility preferred. QUALIFICATIONS AND KNOWLEDGE: • Knowledge if cleaning and sanitation products, techniques, and methods. • Knowledge of cleaning sensitive materials • Working knowledge of operating cleaning equipment’s. • Must read, speak, and write in the English language. • Good communication skills • Must be able to work under pressure and in a set environment. • Must be able to read and comprehend written work orders and follow them with accuracy and in close detail. • Must have customer service skills.
