Description

That title is a lie, but if you clicked it, then you might be the kind of person I’m looking for. I have a music project, I guess you’d call it. And on August 17 I’m going to NYC (I’m in Philly) to record some songs. I need a lead guitarist to come with me and help fill some songs out. I’ll play rhythm and sing, and there’ll be one more person with us singing harmonies. And then you. I’m imagining a good improviser. Someone who thinks about music like they’re designing furniture. Someone who understands integrity and detail. Someone with a lot of opinions, who gets into arguments about music often and loudly. Someone who hates Van Halen and Twenty One Pilots. The songs you’ll be playing on are my own originals. My influences include Roger Miller, Jean Ritchie, John Prine, David Berman (mostly his poetry), Robin Pecknold, Van Morrison, Elliott Smith, Jackson C Frank, Joni Mitchell, Louis MacNeice, Andy Shauf, Alex Turner, and Jack White. If you’re interested, contact me with a sample of your playing and I’ll respond with recordings of the songs you’ll be accompanying. One last thing: All races, genders, and sexual orientations welcome. Just be vaccinated.
