Dr. Bergin became Bedford’s superintendent on June 1, 2021. His career spans 30 years, with extensive experience in teaching and administration in various school divisions. Before joining Bedford County, he served for six years as the Chief of Staff for Virginia Beach City Public Schools and three years as the Deputy Superintendent of Moore County (North Carolina) Public Schools. Dr. Bergin also served for five years as Director of Elementary Education for Chesterfield County Public Schools, eight years as an elementary school principal, and eight years as an elementary school teacher.
