Description

Ethical training discussing gray areas in clinical therapy practice. What was she thinking? How could he let it go so far? I would never do that! We commonly respond to ethical violations in psychotherapy with shock, indignation, and judgment. It is more comfortable to distance from unprofessional conduct with an air of self-righteousness rather than consider our own vulnerabilities to boundary crossings. This training will challenge you to evaluate your boundaries with clients and how they change in various contexts. Uncover the circumstances and attitudes that make one susceptible to defy personal and professional values. The cultural phenomenon that was 50 Shades of Grey invited you to lose control. This presentation empowers you to gain control of the gray in clinical practice. Are you curious? The presenters will utilize a variety of methods to engage participants including case scenarios, group discussion, and clips of psychotherapy sessions as portrayed in popular television series. The goal of this training is to take a non-legalistic approach to exploring ethics and to prompt critical evaluation of personal and professional boundaries.
