Description

A group of passionate “haunters” go to harrowing lengths to ignite their town's Halloween Spirit every year. With an obsession that borders on the religious, or at least the spiritual, Victor Bariteau, a cubicle-inhabiting family man from the sleepy town of Fairhaven, MA, spends the 30 days before Halloween in an intense, creative process of gathering costumes, planning the usual barrage of pop-up frights, and enduring hours of carpentry. Director Michael Paul Stephenson captures the motivation of a man who grew up under the shelter of religion and shielded from gothic obsessions and "draws a provocative connection between the holiday’s encouragement of make-believe and the aspirational mindset associated with the American dream. Think 'Death of a Salesman' with demons." (Eric Kohn, IndieWire, 2012). An intimate screening of the finest international, independent, and documentary films, many premiering for the first time in Tennessee.  We showcase movies that creatively address the most important religious, cultural, and social aspects of human life with passion and inspiration. Programming Director: Sarah Kanervo Reid, M.F.A. (film), University of Miami Every 4th Thursday @ 7:00 p.m.213 Main Street, Historic Downtown Clarksville, across from the Downtown Commons. Admission: FREE. TICKET/RESERVATION REQUIRED Limit: 40 fpcclarksville.org
