Description

Learn the art of cynotype! This workshop will involve sunshine, nature and a unique photographic process so you can bring the outdoors in. "Botanical Blueprints" Cynotype is a 19th century photographic process that produces a cyan blue image when light sensitive (non-toxic) chemicals are exposed to UV light. In this workshop, you will learn how to make a print using this alternative photography process. We will go on a Discovery Walk to collect botanical and learn how to properly press and even ID them. We will experiment with various materials including watercolor paper, maps, pages from old books and you will learn how to print from a transparency. You will go home with your own ready-to-frame prints and a handmade card all designed by you. Class size is limited to 10 people, so don't wait to register. About the Artist: Carmen is a full-time artists and joined us for our first Makers Faire in 2019 where we were introduced to her amazing work. She currently resides in Chattanooga, TN and loves tending to her bees, her dogs and her houseplants. Mill Sping Makers Market is a local handmade vendor market located in Downtown Jonesborough. We work with our artists to provide classes and workshops to the community where they can GATHER, CREATE & CONNECT.
