The Carolina Human Reinvestment Concert: Featuring Will Ness & Friends live @ The Historic Winyah Auditorium There are a lot of talented people that either live in or come from our small coastal town. One of those people is Will Ness. The grandson of former SC Senator Bill Doar, Will has deep roots in the heart of the city of Georgetown. And lucky for us he has chosen music and songwriting as his path to follow. You can catch Will performing from Front Street in Georgetown to North Myrtle Beach. But on Sept 24th Will wanted to do something different. He wanted to give back to a cause he believes in and has volunteered for in the past. He wanted to give back to Georgetown and help bring live music to The Winyah Auditorium. The Carolina Human Reinvestment Program (CHR)provides several different services: The Amachi Mentoring Program, which was developed to provide children impacted by incarceration with a different path by establishing the consistent presence of loving, caring mentors. They strive to positively influence children to dream big, practice self-care and confidence, and achieve their goals. Their after school tutoring program includes individualized homework help, one on one tutoring services, and grade level enrichment. We also provide nourishing snacks, a hot meal, recreation, and healthy fellowship opportunities. We provide academic support to encourage success, and assist our youth in developing healthy goals and life skills. They have also created a community garden which has been created to “Grow, Feed, Teach” and to serve the Pawleys Island and Georgetown communities. It has already managed to provide vegetables for area food banks and hunger programs, serving over 800 people, in less than a year. Will Ness and Friends will be performing his original music and a few tunes you might recognize as well. We invite you to come join us and support two great causes! Support Live Music!
