MELROSE, MA — Melrose Public Schools is beginning the search process to replace longtime administrator Patricia White-Lambright, who will retire this fall.
White-Lambright, the longtime assistant superintendent of pupil personnel services, has served the district for 14 years.
"We are so grateful for the many contributions Ms. White-Lambright has made to the District and wish her all the best as she prepares to retire," Superintendent Julie Kukenberger said in a memo. "Every educator knows that this is always a difficult decision."
White-Lambright was the city's highest paid employee not on the police force in 2020, according to the Melrose Weekly News. She was a finalist for a couple superintendent positions over the past several years.
The district is forming a search committee, which people can be considered for by filling out this Google Form by Thursday, July 29. People can also offer input here.
The search committee will consist of Kukenberger, two School Committee members, two SEPAC members, two special education coordinators, two support service providers, one school psychologist, two principals, one member of the guidance department, four teachers, two paraprofessionals, two secondary students and one district administrator.
The committee will identify finalists in mid-August. Finalists will have community interviews in late August. The School Committee will appoint the candidate Sept. 14.
