HARLEM, NY — A man was struck and killed by a train Monday morning at a Harlem subway station, police said.
The collision happened just after 6 a.m., when the man was apparently trying to cross the tracks at the 116th Street–Lenox Avenue station, police believe.
He was struck by a southbound 3 train and pronounced dead at the scene. His identity was not released, though police said the man was Black.
The accident forced 3 trains to run on the local line between 96th Street and Harlem–148th Street. Southbound 2 trains were running on the 5 line in between 149th Street–Grand Concourse and Nevins Street, the MTA said around 7 a.m.
