OAK CREEK, WI — The Oak Creek Plan Commission will discuss two local developments that could altogether create over 300 new dwellings. One is an apartment complex on 8100 S 27th Street, the other is a townhome and apartment development on 441 W Ryan Road. The 27th Street project, which would be called "The Oaks at 8100," is the larger of the two — it could eventually contain 218 units, documents submitted to the village by Excel Engineering show. Decker Properties, Inc proposed the project. The developer is looking to rezone the land to accommodate more for an increase in density. The 441 Ryan Road project could create 118 new dwellings through eight townhouses and a three-story apartment building, proposal documents from Revel Real Estate show. The developer is seeking to rezone the land from B-4 highway business to Rm-1, multifamily residential. The land is currently used for agriculture. Both projects are only a couple out of the many planned for the area. The buildings would be made out of brick, decorative concrete masonry, vinyl siding, fiber cement panels and asphalt shingles. Apartments will have in-unit laundry, solid top counters, steel appliances and smart thermostats.
