FRANKLIN, WI — The Franklin Noon Lions Club awarded four Franklin High School Students with $500 scholarships based on their academic achievement and community involvement, according to the August newsletter from the City of Franklin.
The Franklin Noon Lions Club awarded the students in June. Winners and their families were invited to Mimosa Restaurant for a lunch and award presentation, the newsletter said.
The recipients of the award:
Kennedy Boll — Boll will attend UW-Eau Claire for nursing.
"She has achieved her nursing assistant certification and understands the compassion and diligence required for success in the medical field," the newsletter said.
Rebekah Hajdasz — Hajdasz will attend UW-Stout for event planning.
"Currently Rebekah participates in the special education internship program and also volunteers helping blind children participate in dance class," the newsletter said.
Hannah Stokes — Stokes will attend Johnson and Wales University in Charlotte, North Carolina for baking and to become a pastry chef. "Hannah serves the Girl Scouts of America and is a role model to younger girls," the newsletter said.
Seth Swanson — Swanson will attend UW-Milwaukee for mechanical engineering.
"As a middle school student, Seth got involved with Discovery World learning and helping others generate excitement for Science, Technology, Engineering
and Math (STEM) in the minds of children," the newsletter said.
