NEW LONDON, CT — A woman was shot in New London Saturday morning, according to police. Police received the call at 8:12 a.m. reporting a gunshot victim in the area of Mitchell Court and Montauk Avenue. Officers responded and found the victim, who was transported to Lawrence & Memorial Hospital for treatment. She was later taken to Yale New Haven Hospital for further treatment. Police said the incident does not appear to be a random act. Investigation is ongoing.
