The Baltimore Sun reported Maryland's positivity rate is now above 2 percent, an increase from the 0.45 percent seen in June. Before the Delta variant appeared in Maryland, the county's school system announced its plan to bring back full-time in-person learning for all grade levels this fall. However, the school system is offering virtual learning programs for students that do not want to return to in-person instruction. D.C. Public Schools will require masks this fall as well, officials said Friday. The 2021-2022 academic year is set to begin on Sept. 8, now with required masks.
