Description

The YWCA Darien/Norwalk is pleased to announce the honorees for the 2021 Women of Distinction Awards. Josephine Anderson, Katharine Calderwood, Kyla Johns, Lauren Mallet, and Iliana Zuniga will be honored this year along with three Young Women of Distinction: Sophie Curtis, Lindsay Ferretti, and Gillian Riordan. These women were selected for their outstanding community leadership, contribution and focus on issues related to racial equity, social justice, and/or strengthening our community during this pandemic. The award is bestowed in recognition of the outstanding achievements of a select group of women who live or work in Darien and Norwalk. Each has made a difference in our community with their significant and unique contributions. The honorees were collectively celebrated at the Women of Distinction Awards event at Tokeneke Club on Tuesday, June 8th, along with the six phenomenal women selected as Women of Distinction honorees in 2020 who, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the YWCA was unable to formally honor at an event last year. The 2020 honorees were: Kim Dickinson, Lily Genovese, Shelly Skogland, Shieva Ghofrany, Susan Marks and Susie Flaherty. The event was sponsored by Beirsdorf and Schoonmaker, George, Colin, Blomberg, Bryniczka & Welsh Family Law.
