Press release from the City of Wheaton: July 26, 2021 Hawthorne Boulevard will be closed to eastbound traffic between President Street and Summit Street starting Monday, July 26 as crews with the City's contractor, Plote Construction, begin road reconstruction work as part of the City's 2021 Road Program. Westbound traffic on Hawthorne Boulevard will be maintained. This closure is expected to last approximately 4 to 6 weeks. Detour signs will be posted directing eastbound Hawthorne Boulevard traffic to use Wakeman Avenue.   For eastbound traffic, the detour route is: See the map here for the detour route to get around the closure.
