Description

The wait for the 36th running of the J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge in San Francisco is over. JPMorgan Chase announced that the 2021 race date at the Chase Center in the Mission Bay neighborhood will be Thursday, September 9, with the 3.5-mile team road race beginning at 6:45 p.m. Company registration is now available at www.jpmorganchasecc.com/en/san-francisco. The last in-person J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge was held in the Bay Area on September 9, 2019, with a capacity crowd of 10,500 runners and walkers from 389 companies registered. The COVID-19 pandemic limited the 2020 event to a Virtual experience. "We couldn't be happier to welcome businesses back to the Chase Center for our popular celebration of workplace fitness and camaraderie," said Peter Engel, Global Chairman of Investment Banking for J.P. Morgan. "In partnership with local and state officials, we are confident we can conduct a safe and fun event and set the stage for many future years of Corporate Challenge memories." The Corporate Challenge anticipates enforcing a reduced capacity for the race and in pre-and post-race hospitality within the Chase Center, following the safety guidelines for large gatherings. "I've run in over a dozen Corporate Challenges here in San Francisco and can attest that this is a first-quality event that we are committed to bringing back to the Bay Area annually," said Engel. "While this September the event may be slightly smaller than our annual capacity crowds, we're confident the re-introduction will be positive, and we'll be full again in 2022." Entry fee or the 2021 J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge in San Francisco is $75 per employee and businesses may enter a minimum team of four. Support is available at [email protected] or (415) 839-6558. The Virtual version of the Corporate Challenge will be held between September 10-14. There will be no entry fee for this experience, and entrants that run or walk in the in-person event may also participate in Virtual. San Francisco held its first Corporate Challenge in 1991 and is part of the eight-country, six-continent J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge Series. Including its Virtual event in 2020, this will be the 45th consecutive year of operation for the Series, the largest corporate sporting event in the world with 251,299 entrants from 7,581 companies participating in 2019.
