PLAINFIELD, IL — A 20-year-old Sauk Village man died on impact in Friday afternoon's car crash on Ridge Road, Plainfield officials said.
Police said the preliminary investigation shows Rolando Castro's car, a silver Toyota RAV4, veered into the southbound lane just south of Plainfield Road when it hit a white GMC Sierra 3500.
Castro had just turned 20 three days before the crash, which police said is still under investigation. The other driver was taken to Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora with non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers arrived to the scene around 3:23 p.m. Friday. Roads surrounding the crash site remained closed for a few hours Friday while the Plainfield Emergency Management Agency and the Kendall County Sheriff's Department investigated the crash.
Anyone with additional information about the crash is asked to contact Anthony Novak at 815-267-7234.
