RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — Hundreds of Southern California Edison customers lost power Monday in Riverside County, with many of the outages blamed on weather — including lightning. Hundreds of Southern California Edison customers lost power Monday morning in the Coachella Valley, including nearly 1,000 in the Palm Desert area. Most of those outages were blamed on the monsoonal weather, although some were due to equipment problems, according to SCE. The blackouts stretched from Desert Hot Springs down to the Palm Desert area, according to SCE. In Southwest Riverside County, hundreds of customers lost power with some areas down due to lightning.
