With the start of the 2021-2022 school year fast approaching, Phoenixville Area School District is announcing some changes to the administrative lineup for the District. In late June, Dr. Craig Parkinson announced he was accepting the position of Superintendent in the Chester-Upland School District. Dr. Parkinson leaves after 15 years in the PASD, the last 11 of those as principal at Phoenixville Area High School. During that time, he has fostered a student-centered culture that saw PAHS grow in numbers and stature. We wish "Dr. P" well in this next chapter of his career, and remind him of one of his favorite sayings, "once a Phantom, always a Phantom".Dr. Rose Scioli, an assistant principal under Parkinson, has assumed the role of high school principal. Scioli is beginning her third year in PASD, and brings over 20 years of experience as a teacher and administrator to the job. Dr. Garritano will continue as the Middle School Principal until his replacement has been hired.Dr. Jessica Kilmetz will also see a change in her responsibilities as she assumes the title of Executive Director of Curriculum and Specialized Programs and Services. "My excitement for this new role can't be overstated," Kilmetz shared. "I have big plans for our schools because I know how capable our students and faculty are, and how supportive this community is. There is nothing we cannot achieve together." We also wish Dr. Khalid Sutton, Barkley Elementary Principal well as he will be leaving to join the Chester-Upland School District as their Chief Academic Officer.
