JOLIET, IL — The Will County Sheriff's Office is investigating a weekend shooting that left a 26-year-old woman with a gunshot to her head while a 41-year-old man suffered gunshot wounds to his buttocks.
A total of 46 shell casings were recovered from the scene of Saturday afternoon's shooting in the 2100 block of Arthur Avenue, which is considered Joliet Township. Will County Chief Deputy Sheriff Dan Jungles said the shooting occurred around 1:20 p.m.
Both shooting victims were taken to area hospitals, and they were considered in stable condition and their injuries were not considered life-threatening, Jungles said.
A total of 46 shell casings were recovered by Will County deputies at the Arthur Avenue shooting scene, and sheriff's detectives later determined that the bullets were fired from at least three separate guns, Jungles said.
In addition to the two shooting victims, several cars and one house were hit by the bullets, Jungles added.
