Press release from the Village of Glenview: July 26, 2021 The Glenview Civic Awards is a long-standing tradition that was created 54-years ago to recognize and pay tribute to citizens in Glenview who have "made a difference" by performing outstanding acts of community service. The award night is scheduled for Friday, September 10, 2021 at the Renaissance Chicago Glenview Suites Hotel, 1400 Milwaukee Avenue, Glenview, IL 60025. The award reception will start at 6:00pm and dinner will be served at 7:00pm The event will be a "dual award ceremony" recognizing 2019 and 2020 award recipients. With the cancelling of COVID, the committee wanted to still recognize those nominated in 2019. 2020 will consist of a special recognition to essential workers during the COVID-19 Pandemic. The 2019 recipients are: Citizen of the Year: Cynthia "CJ" Sultz Youth of the Year: Wyatt Cummings Public Safety: Officer David Maize Special Committee Award: Glenview Action Committee – Kerry Cummings, Charles Balling, David Raija, and Gary Dubofsky Reservations for dinner can be made through Sandie Elliott, Glenview Police Department, 2500 E. Lake Avenue, Glenview, IL 60026. You may contact Sandie at (847) 901-6100 or [email protected]. Reservations must be paid for at the time of placement. Arrangements may be made to reserve an entire table, if desired. Seating is limited to 200 so, early reservations are welcomed and recommended. Menu Selections: Blackened Grouper Filet Herb Garlic Crusted Pork Tenderloin Medallions Vegetarian option of Grilled Marinated Portobello Mushroom Steak, Zucchini, and Squash in Phyllo.
