WORCESTER, MA — A new restaurant focused on sweet treats is coming to Shrewsbury Street in Worcester.
On Tuesday, the owners of Meraki Café will seek permission from the Worcester License Commission to open at 274 Shrewsbury St., the site of the former Dark Rose Saloon.
The owners are seeking licenses to serve alcohol, operate sidewalk dining, serve food and have live entertainment, according to the License Commission agenda. Owner Roger Bachour told the Worcester Telegram recently the restaurant will not serve meals, but will focus on dessert.
Bachour previously opened the Worcester nightlife spots The Boardroom, The Boiler Room and The Whiskey Lounge, according to Pulse Magazine.
The Dark Rose Saloon opened in spring 2019 as Medusa's Saloon, but changed its name a few months later. Before that, the space was the home of Frank's Bar.
