Framingham Man Charged After Altercation With Worcester Police

WORCESTER, MA — A 30-year-old Framingham man was arrested and charged Sunday after an incident in Worcester where an officer narrowly escaped getting run over by an SUV. The incident began Sunday evening at a home along Dartmouth Street where a man was apparently threatened by another man carrying a gun. When a Worcester officer approached the SUV involved in the incident, the driver sped toward him, nearly running the officer over. Other Worcester officers joined the pursuit, and watched as the Framingham man bailed out of the passenger side of the SUV while it was traveling along Grafton Street. Police said he was holding a gun and tried to break into a home before he was arrested. He was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, disorderly conduct, possession of a Class B substance, possession of a Class E substance, reckless endangerment of a child and being a level 3 armed career criminal. He is also facing multiple gun law charges. The woman driving the SUV, a 35-year-old Worcester resident, was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, accessory after the fact, failure to stop for police, operating to endanger, reckless endangerment of a child and intimidation of a witness.
