Female vocalist needed for Rush tribute! Are you our unicorn?

Description

We’re a trio of experienced musicians in our 40s putting together a Rush tribute act and we would love to find a talented female vocalist who can round out the crew. Casual at first but there may be some $$ in it down the road. We take our playing seriously and want to be the best we can be at this. As you may know, Rush fans tend to be pretty discerning (annoyingly so!) and we want to live up to audience expectations. Right now we rehearse in Nashua, NH though that could be subject to change depending on where everyone is coming from. The schedule would likely involve attending a rehearsal every couple of weeks (maybe weekly for a while at first to get things moving) and then a gig now and then. If you happen to play some keys then we might be able to split synth duties between the bassist and the vocalist. If you’re really into playing them then you can likely have them all! We’ve decided to look for a female vocalist because we think it would sound better to have someone who can actually sing in the range of the songs naturally rather than to have someone come in and try to mimic Geddy’s voice and end up sounding cartoonish. Also it’d put a nice spin on the concept. We do have a vocalist filling in right now but she’s not able to commit for the long term so we’re starting our search. Let us know if you’d like to come in for an audition. Age is not important but we do need someone with a good vocal range and some stage presence who is comfortable fronting a band. Preferably someone who truly knows how to sing but won't necessarily sound "trained" (for example, as Amy from Evanescence tends to) when singing rock. Experience is good but if you’re a n00b who thinks they’re ready for it then, by all means, drop us a line. Please include links to audio or video samples (if available) so we can get an idea of what you’re about. Thanks a lot!!
