OBRC is the industry steward of Oregon’s nationally recognized beverage container deposit program. We help keep Oregon beautiful by providing outstanding services to our partner distributors and retailers, and to the public for the recovery, reuse, and recycling of beverage containers. We are presently hiring two Team Leads for our Eugene plant! Days 6:00 am - 2:30 pm Swing 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm Summary Coordinate the activity of a processing team. Train, direct, evaluate, discipline, and recommend termination of team members as needed. Responsible for maintaining safety standards among team members, for achieving defined performance goals, for accurate accounting of products unloaded from trailers and for assisting Supervisor in selecting team members. Primary Duties & Responsibilities Adhere to, and ensure team members adhere to, all OSHA Safety Standards and OBRC policies Safely operate plant equipment as assigned, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, yard goat, company trucks, dock plates, and more Motivate team members to achieve trailer-processing goals. Train team members as necessary Direct activities within their teams working area to maintain order, cleanliness and efficient flow. Maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization at all times Count bags on completed racks, log on load sheet and pull or otherwise maneuver rack to counters. Identify types of cased glass and shells, count and log as needed. Identify types of pallets, count and log as needed. Pull empty racks to trailer and post paperwork on as needed. Identify and document steel cans, driver verified bags, and crush can bags. Identify and document discrepancies in actual product unloaded and product listed on drafts. Communicate with forklift drivers regarding placement of dock plates, tote boxes, and pallets of glass needing verification. Communicate trailer load-out needs to forklift operators and verify that they are done accurately and in a timely manner. Ensure Can Counter Operators conduct test counts as scheduled and initial form. Fill in for dock team leader as necessary Identify and report all maintenance items to supervisor Education/Experience High School Diploma or GED preferred, not required: or any equivalent combination of training, experience and education that demonstrates the ability to perform key responsibilities of this position Requirements – Skills, Job Knowledge & Abilities Speak, understand, read, and write the English Language sufficiently to perform the job Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy High degree of attention regarding safety requirements to prevent injury to self and others Reliability: Must have transportation to and from work Time Management: Prioritize duties in order of importance Communication: Work together to get the job done right the first time Able to work variety of shifts, including days, evenings, nights requiring extra hours, weekends and holidays due to varying volumes.
