Job Description We are seeking a motivated individual to join our company as a Shipping and Receiving Specialist. As part of our team, you will oversee and document the receiving of packages, parcels and supplies, store items in the appropriate areas and prepare merchandise for shipping. This position requires someone who is highly organized. You must pay close attention to small details while managing the logistics of a high volume of items entering and leaving the facility. Lifting of merchandise will be required throughout your shift. Receive merchandise, check and sign delivery slips and assist with unloading when necessary. Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices or other documents, record shortages and maintain a log of all merchandise. Verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepare items for shipment. Compare identifying information and count items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders and other records. Route merchandise to various departments. Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications. Maintain inventory of shipping merchandise and supplies. May operate tier lift-truck or use hand-truck to move, convey or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to work area. Oversee incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness and condition of shipments. Accept and document merchandise made to the facility. Prepare items for shipping, noting item contents, delivery methods and other logistical details. Identify and resolve shipping, storage or receiving discrepancies as they arise. Maintain a clearly organized workspace. REQUIREMENTS: High School or GED certificate. Prior warehouse experience (preferred). Forklift experience and certification. Exceptional organizational skills.
