Join us for a 6 week in-depth class in sculpting the nude female figure from life in natural clay. Dan Myers, QAA's award winning sculptor and teacher, will guide all artists at every level in a systematic, hands-on method of creating a quarter life size scale likeness of our model. The course will include gesture and pose selection, correct proportion, bone and muscle anatomy, details of features, use of specialized tools, encouragement of individual artistic expression, photographs of the leather hard stage, firing in a kiln, patina and mounting for exhibit. At least 20 pages of photos and reference materials will be supplied by email. Class fee is $200 for QAA members (or $240 for non members) which includes everything: clay, model fee, use of tools, and firing in a kiln to permanent terracotta. The class will be offered on 6 Wednesday nights, starting Wednesday, October 6, 2021 from 7 to 10 pm. Maximum class size is 7. A 10% Discount available for US service personnel and QPS art teachers. Dan's sculpture, "Faith, Hope, and Love," was accepted in 2016 as a finalist in the Art Renewal's 12th international Salon and in this year's Blanche Ames National Juried Art Exhibit in N. Easton Dan's sculpture, "Amazing Grace," was selected by the National Sculpture Society at nationalsculpture.org as part of the 80th Annual Exhibit in Tampa Fla and Brookgreen Gardens in SC.
