Description

Thank you for taking the time to read my post... I have an 8 yr old male, Yorkie, he is about 5 lbs, loves being outside, in your lap, in your purse or bag of some sort :)) and truly loyal! He has redefined for me what loyalty really is in a human/pup kinda way. His name is Nunu, he loves to do everything that humans do, like, literally lol. Due to a house fire and needing some time to just get things in order, I am looking for a temporary home for him. Yes, I do intend to have him return home. Nunu is neutered, meaning he is unable to mate with a female dog to create more babies. He was just diagnosed 2 weeks ago with the following: a collapsing trachea, enlarged heart and liver. Let me explain...All of these conditions are common in dogs that are of small breed. His heart and liver condition do not effect his daily quality of life but it does mean he is a candidate in future years for heart disease, possibly. His collapsing trachea which is simply put, his windpipe that allows him to breathe with ease is compromised. As of 3 weeks ago, I was on a trip and took him with me. Nunu began hacking as if something was lodged in his throat. I rushed him to the ER where I discovered his overall condition, after having X-rays produced for him. What this means for his care...He is naturally anxious, as in a lot. When he gets really excited and anxious he can begin to gasp for air, but it's mild. He is teaching himself to relax by way of experiencing his condition on a personal level. Dogs are like humans...eventually they just kinda get it :). I also noticed that he can not be directly in the way of an AC or fan blowing directly on him. This alters his breathing pattern as well. Nunu is a marker. This means that even though you take him outside to potty, he may still potty indoors. Nunu absolutely requires someone patient, loving, home more often than not and/or at least has the ability to take him with them a lot. He requires a lot of attention, organically because of his anxiety, before being diagnosed with his health conditions and thereafter, as well. Nunu, runs, plays, and is otherwise fine. I am not looking to pay for his foster. Here is why...Nunu requires a home that is not attached to a monetary commitment because he needs genuine love with no contingencies. Money can sour relationships, change expectancies and create a relationship that isn't genuine. Nunu is loving, has an amazing human-like personality and will make a really great partner for you if you are seeking to have a relationship with him. Foster can't be a smoker because this too alters his breathing, must have a clean and suitable home and not mind a pre visit before commitment and provide the option for me to see him while in their care. I will provide food, vet and other items needed concerning his care. I am seeking to Rehome him as soon as possible. Thanks again for reading! :) Demi xx
