Description

MMA Teacher Workshop: Observation as Problem-Solving and Community-Building Observation as Problem-Solving and Community-Building is an essential practice and skill for every Montessori teacher, assistant, parent, and school administrator. Presenter, Susan Tracy McDaniel is a Montessorian who developed a commitment to Observation after being required to sit and write observation notes for two years at the start of her Montessori studies. Susan has taught Montessori Observation to educators since 1993 and parents since 1989. She requires observation as a part of consultations and parent coaching. Susan shares both the philosophy and the practical benefits, believing that Observation is our most powerful tool for solving and preventing problems in Montessori classrooms and homes. Learn techniques that will help you overcome any hesitation to observe. Learn to quiet your mind and body, becoming still so you can see more clearly. As we observe, trust replaces worry. Susan will also encourage those in Montessori communities to develop a culture of scientific inquiry through observation. Consider attending with other adults, both teachers and parents, from your community for a day of inspiration, challenge, and peace.
