FOOTINGSFootings has been playing for a few years now, and was a natural progression from Eric Gagne’s earlier folk explorations in Redwing Blackbird and Passerine. He also has made records with Dweller on the Threshold and Death to Tyrants, and has had the honor of opening for Mount Eerie, J Mascis, Diane Cluck, Waxahatchee, Califone, Dredd Foole, Steve Gunn, Mirah, Death Vessel, Leyla McCalla, Mail the Horse, and many more. Footings has become a nuanced unit with Eric joined by Elisabeth Fuchsia on viola, Jordan Holtz (Rick Rude) on bass and vocals, Candace Clement (Bunny’s a Swine, Psychic Energy) on guitar and vocals, and Mia Govoni (Gilliver) on drums, creating a pretty unique sound, full of both darkness and hope. They have been called a mix between Songs:Ohia and Godspeed You! Black Emperor, which is a super nice thing to say.
