VU August Event - Baltimore International Academy (BIA) Baltimore International Academy (BIA) is committed to providing an academically rigorous, internationally orientated and socially responsible learning environment that challenges all students to achieve. Their programs provide a culturally and linguistically diverse education to help students develop the knowledge, understanding, attitudes and skills necessary to participate responsibly in a changing world. To this end, BIA endeavors to be a true “community school”, partnering with families and local organizations, specifically creating links with French, Latino, Russian, Arabic, and Chinese community groups, organizations and businesses that already exist in Baltimore, and with the Foreign Language Departments at nearby higher learning institutions to create a vital international educational community that serves Baltimore children of all races, cultures, and socio-economic backgrounds. For our event, we will be partnering with BIA on outdoor activities to help maintain their outdoor space. Activities will include: Installing mesh on fencePainting playground wall with background color and add stencils Painting over arrows in parking lot with school/language colorsWeeding/mulching, cleaning out rain gardenPainting/stenciling games into parking lot areaDress code for the event will be closed-toed shoes and clothes that you feel comfortable painting in. Please bring a mask - masks are not required outside, but bathrooms will be inside of the school building. There is a large lot for parking on site. And after we volunteer?
