Description

Dallas's pretty much only carnivorous plant gallery continues its summer weekend events, now with more air conditioning. "July in Texas" means one of three things for those organizing or attending events in Dallas: going early before the sun gets going, moving inside and clutching the AC like a long-lost teddy bear, or embarking on a new career as "Near Dark" cosplayers. The Texas Triffid Ranch, Dallas's pretty much only carnivorous plant gallery, leans toward the first two for the return of its famed Porch Sales throughout the month. If weather is amenable or even unseasonably cool, everything gets moved outside onto the front porch; if not, then we're moving everything indoors and offering cold drinks to get through the heat. Either way, come out to view and purchase carnivorous and protocarnivorous plants from every continent but Antarctica, including pitcher plants (Asian, North American, South American, and Australian), sundews, butterworts, bladderworts, and triggerplants, as well as a few surprises. In order to help attendees who have to work one weekend day or the other, July's schedule shifts: the first Porch Sale runs on Saturday, July 17 from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm, and then we switch to Sunday, July 24 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, and again on Sunday, July 31 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. As always, admission is free and masks are mandatory. For more information or directions, please refer to http://www.texastriffidranch.com. The Texas Triffid Ranch is Dallas’s pretty much only carnivorous plant gallery, located just east of Central Expressway and Spring Valley. Open both by appointment and for special gallery showings.
