Surfrider Foundation of Huntington / Seal Beach is hosting a cleanup at PCH & Beach Blvd on the City Beach. Hello and Welcome, The Surfrider Foundation of Huntington / Seal Beach is hosting a beach cleanup at PCH & Beach Blvd. When entering at Beach Blvd, make sure to go into the gate on the right. Plenty of parking however it is $15 per vehicle. (Carpool if possible). Keep in mind, that the parking lots are connected heading towards the pier to allow closer access to Main Street after the cleanup. Before coming out: - Bring reusable water bottle, reusable gloves (gardening or mechanic), and sun protection. - Avoid bringing plastic bottles, bags of chips, and other single use plastic products. - I recommend wearing a hat, sunglasses, shorts, and flip flops. - Bonus points if you bring a portable speaker if you want some tunes to listen to. Arriving: - Sign in at the Surfrider popup tent - We have bags and containers for cigarette butts & needles Cleaning up: - You can scavenge the shoreline, beach, parking lot, etc. - Do NOT collect seaweed, wood, rocks, stones, seashells by the seashore sold by Sally. Let us know if you find any 'sleeping' animals for Parks and Rec. to scoop up. - Bring us back your trash once your bag is full, time runs out, or you must leave. We will weigh the trash, record the weight, then sort out the trash for items to be recycled - For those that need community service hours, it is at this point that you can get a form stating you attended the cleanup.
