ABOUT THE BOOK: A timeless treasure for all ages, Pencils, Pens & Brushes – A Great Girls’ Guide to Disney Animation is a vibrant celebration of twenty inspiring women whose contributions advanced Disney Animation through the earliest years of the studio. From Story Artists who shaped the ‘Silly Symphonies’ and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, to Animators during wartime, to Inkers & Painters who redefined the artistry of Disney Animation, explore the stories of these talented artists. Beyond their remarkable contributions to Disney animation, each of these ‘Great Girls’ also made extraordinary accomplishments within some surprising areas: brave pilots who ruled the skies; a designer of famous Hollywood monsters; creating an international club for tall people; performing in grand opera halls; breaking barriers within civil rights; advancing the artistry of animation and so much more! The stories of these trailblazing women equally delight and inspire with engaging imagery and inspirational verses, perfect for anyone in search of their own greatness!
