Learn how to melt down your sterling silver scraps, chain, and broken jewelry into sheet and wire that can be used to make new jewelry! 1-Day Workshop Saturday, November 13, 2021 - 10am-5pm Description: Buying sterling silver sheet and wire is expensive for an emerging jeweler. In this class you will learn how to melt down your sterling silver scraps, chain, and broken jewelry into sheet and wire that can be used to make new jewelry! We will all pour own ingots to roll into sheet and pull into wire! We will also discuss the market value of metals, alloying, and pricing scrap silver. Students are encouraged to bring in “old” sterling silver jewelry and scraps to use, but you will be provided with some silver, too! Tuition: $95 + $35 materials fee Materials: All materials will be provided Location: Contemporary Craft (5645 Butler St., Pittsburgh, PA 15201) COVID-19: We are excited to welcome you to our new, permanent space for art in the artistic neighborhood of Lawrenceville. Cancellations and Refunds: Workshop cancellations are decided three business days before the start date. If workshops must be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment, the entire class fee will be refunded through Eventbrite, or you may leave your workshop fee in your Contemporary Craft account for future workshops. Refund Policy: Student refund requests must be made at least three business days before a class begins. There will be a $25 cancellation fee. No refunds will be given without three-business days notice. Processing of refunds takes approximately three weeks.
