LIDO BEACH, NY — A pair of shark sightings has put Nassau County on the offensive. Nassau County police are stepping up patrols via water and air, using boats and helicopters to check for sharks "to keep an eye out for anything dangerous potentially lurking under the water," County Executive Laura Curran announced.
