Press release from the City of Urbandale: July 23, 2021 Notice is hereby given that at its July 21, 2021, meeting, the Urbandale Parks and Recreation Commission approved a request to change the current name of Barrett Park, located at the southeast corner of 156th Street and Waterford Road to "Barrett Bosen Park." The City of Urbandale's Policy for Naming Park Property, Facilities and Features Located within Parks requires a 30-day waiting period, where a written notice of the proposal to name a park or facility within a park shall be posted for the public.  Additional information regarding this park name request is available at the Parks and Recreation Department, 3600 86th Street, Urbandale, Iowa, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.   The City Council will discuss the recommendation for renaming the park at its August 24, 2021, meeting, held at the Urbandale City Hall at 6:00 p.m. This press release was produced by the City of Urbandale.
